Phil Lesh returned to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY with John Kadlecik, John Scofield, John Medeski and Joe Russo for the second night in a row yesterday. The group once again got some help from special guests Ross James and Nels Cline, who joined in during the first and second sets, respectively.

James, who has played with Lesh a number of times as part of the Terrapin Family Band, took the stage with the band for the entirety of the first set, which saw covers of Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rains A-Gonna Fall” and Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “Turn On Your Lovelight.”

Cline came out for a second set that featured “Cumberland Blues”, “Eyes of the World,” and “The Wheel,” as well as a “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot” > “Franklin’s Tower” to close it out. The show then wrapped up for good as Cline joined the band for “Ripple.”

Phil Lesh and Friends will return to the stage this evening when they make their second appearance at the Central Park SummerStage in New York City.
