Dave Matthews Band and Bela Fleck collaborated once again in Pittsburgh on Saturday night. The banjoist joined the band during the last five songs of the second set for a run that included some older material from the band’s 20+ year catalog.

Fleck started on the Before These Crowded Streets cut “Don’t Drink the Water,” which he also played on in the studio along with vocalist Alanis Morissette. The band then debuted an electric version of “Typical Situation” for the first time this tour (the band played the tune acoustically on June 25) before closing the set with another tour debut—“Drunken Soldier”—along with “Corn Bread” and “Grey Street.”

While “Don’t Drink the Water” is a Bela staple, the performance of “Typical Situation” marked just the eighth time Fleck has played on it live, with the last coming in 1998. He made his debut on “Drunken Soldier” and played on his first “Grey Street” since 2000.

Next up for the band is a show at Milwaukee’s Summerfest on July 2. The group will celebrate the 4th of July holiday with a two-night run at Northerly Island in Chicago.
