Neil Young & Crazy Horse will not perform at Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park this week due to the conflict between Hamas and Israel. The show, originally scheduled for July 17, will no longer take place due to tensions that have rendered the event unsafe.

Young released the following statement: “I will be making donations to both the Louise Tillie Alpert Youth Music Centre of Israel, and Heartbeat, two organizations that teach music to Palestinian and Israeli youth simultaneously by enabling them to play music together.”

Last week, Roger Waters released a letter he wrote to Neil Young detailing his concerns with the show. The letter was penned months ago and was recently posted on Waters’ Facebook page. Read the full transcript here.
