Dispatch got some help from a few friends during their set at Gathering of the Vibes on Sunday evening. The group was joined by guitarist Darian Cunning for “Here We Go” early in their show, while Stephen Kellogg took up vocals and harmonica on “Two Coins” a bit later. Stanley Jordan, who was at the festival as an artist-at-large, then came out for “Passerby” and Connecticut’s Funky Dawgz Brass Band sat in during the set-closing “The General.” The show also saw Dispatch dedicate a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” to Vibes MC Wavy Gravy.

Sunday also featured notable performances from Ziggy Marley, moe. Allen Stone and Maceo Parker. Marley worked through a number of solo tunes during his set, as well a some of his father’s classics like “One Love,” Could You Be Loved?” and “Is This Love?” moe., who had just flown back to The States from Germany, played a single set that featured older classics like “Wind It Up,” “Crab Eyes” and “New York City,” along with songs from their most recent album,No Guts, No Glory, such as “Billy Goat,” “Same Old Story” and “Do or Die.” Earlier in the day, Parker showed off his legendary sax skills with renditions of his own songs and covers of soul-funk classics like Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.”

Sunday was the final day of this year’s Gathering of the Vibes, which also included performances by Widespread Panic, The Disco Biscuits with Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, Umphrey’s McGee, John Fogerty, Lotus, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Dark Star Orchestra, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and many more.
