The Oregonian posted a new interview with Trey Anastasio this morning in anticipation of Tuesday’s performance with the Oregon Symphony at Portland’s Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (Phish has also performed at this classic venue on one occasion, 8-26-93). The guitarist discusses the origins of his new composition, “Petichor“and some of the difficulties inherent to incorporating electric guitar with symphonic orchestras, but of particular note to Phish fans are his comments on the upcoming Halloween shows in Vegas. As per the article: “I don’t know that we’re going to cover anything this year, to be perfectly honest,” [Anastasio] said. “That’s the word I’m getting from the other guys. You never know. I’m guessing that we may have put that tradition to bed with the wink to ‘Fuego’.”
Anastasio kicks off his orchestral tour with the Schnitzer show tomorrow night, before heading up to Seattle on 9/9 and wrapping up the jaunt in Hollywood on 9/26.
