Jambase is reporting that Gov’t Mule will play a Neil Young-themed Halloween show this year at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati, OH. Jackie Greene will serve as a special guest. Most recently on Halloween, Mule collaborated with the likes of Robby Krieger of The Doors for a set of music inspired by the iconic California group.

As for the band’s experience with Young’s catalog, Warren Haynes has played a variety of tunes from the legendary guitarist including famed sit-ins with Dave Matthews Band on “Cortez the Killer,” among others.

In other Mule news, the band brought out guitarist Larry McCray on Saturday night during their show at the Kalamazoo State Theatre. McCray joined the band for takes on “Worried Down with the Blues,” “Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody’s Home,” “Soulshine,” “Hurts Me Too” and the finale of “Gonna Send You Back to Georgia.”
