In a move that surprises almost no one, the Foo Fighters have announced a last-minute gig in New York City for this Friday, December 5. The band, who have been promoting their new album Sonic Highways with a series a surprise shows, will perform at Irving Plaza. Tickets will go on sale at 5pm on Friday, and they will only be available at the venue’s box office. Fans will not be allowed to lineup prior to 3pm.

As previously reported, Foo Fighters have played last-minute, small-venue shows in Seattle, Washington, DC, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Nashville and Chicago over the past few weeks. All of these cities are featured on the band’s new album and on their HBO documentary series of the same name (a surprise show in Austin was cancelled due to a family emergency). The final episode of Sonic Highways, which focuses on New York City, will air this Friday as well.
