Art Neville joined Billy Iuso during his set at the Blue Nile in New Orleans on Saturday night. The Meters keyboardist hopped on the B3 in the middle of show for “Overstanding,” a tune that he co-wrote with Iuso that will be the title track on the guitarists upcoming album. Neville then stuck around for the remainder of the performance, which featured takes on Stephen Stills’ “Love The One Your With,” The Meters’ “Love Slip Up On Ya” and the Allman Brothers Band’s “Midnight Rider.” Neville’s son Ian (who plays lead guitar with Dumpstaphunk) then joined the fray for a show-closing rendition of The Meters classic “Fire On The Bayou.”

Saturday night’s show also featured a performance by Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, who got were joined by local MC Blac Soul and Yojimbo/Mike Dillon Band trombonist Carly Meyers during their set.
