North Mississippi Osborne took some time before their show at the Capitol Theatre on Friday to entertain a group of children as a part of the Rock and Roll Playhouse workshop at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre. The “Blues for Little Rockers” event saw Luther and Cody Dickinson along with Anders Osborne teach the kids how to make tissue box guitars and DIY harmonicas with popsicle sticks, along with performing recognizable children’s songs.

The trio took children’s tunes like the “ABCs” and turned them into blues standards along with takes on “Marmalade,” “Rollin’ N Tumblin’” and an original they wrote as a group entitled “The Cold Weather Blues.” Throughout the performance, the kids would take turns singing into the mic.

On Sunday, The London Souls will lead a workshop entitled “Beatles for Little Rockers” at the Brooklyn Bowl beginning at 11:30 AM. The band will play some Beatles tunes as well as their originals from their upcoming record, Here Comes the Girls. Tickets are on sale via the Brooklyn Bowl website.
