Billy Joel closed down the famed Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY last night, a venue that opened in 1972 and will be renovated in the years to come.

During the show, Joel called on “fellow Long Islander” Paul Simon to help him out during the middle portion of the set. Together, the two collaborated on “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” Simon & Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound” and Simon’s “Late in the Evening.”

Additional highlights from the show included an appearance from King of Queens and Paul Blart: Mall Cop star Kevin James, who took the stage prior to the performance of “Miami 2017.” Joel also busted out “Captain Jack” for the first time since 2014 and offered up covers of The Beatles’ “Hard Day’s Night” and Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll.”

The arena, which played home to the New York Nets (briefly) and New York Islanders over the years, will undergo a $261 million renovation and is expected to return in December 16 with a wide variety of improvements.
