As previously reported, Gregg Allman is recording his next album at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals with his band and producer-musician Don Was.

Gregg Allman Band keyboardist Peter Levin, who has also played with Blind Boys of Alabama, God Street Wine and many others, commented today on social media about his reactions to recording at the famed studio:

Wrapped up in a blanket by all the rich history and vibe the second I entered the studio…It descended from the ceiling almost like a peaceful, comforting snowfall, with the faces of so many greats, past and present, looking out at you from their pictures hanging on the wall with an expression that suggests “You have finally arrived…Make Music…Make us Proud….”

I am really looking forward to making this record with Gregg, producer Don Was, and the band, in such a magical and historical place and psyched for everyone to enjoy the album in the not to distant future….pics to come! Stay tuned….

The band’s guitarist, Scott Sharrard has also mentioned that they will be hitting the road with ZZ Top for a few dates, along with the return of the Laid Back Festival, which expands to five locations this year.
