As reported yesterday, Rage Against the Machine launched a countdown clock website titled Prophets of Rage. Now, Billboard is reporting that, while there will be no proper reunion of RATM, who haven’t played together since 2011, members of that group will team up with MCs from both Public Enemy and Cypress Hill to form a new supergroup, Prophets of Rage.

RATM guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk will join Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real for a project that will reportedly perform songs from each of the three groups. The only RATM member not involved is vocalist Zack de la Rocha.

Prophets of Rage’s debut show will be on June 3 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Billboard also notes that another LA performance at Whisky a Go Go is in the works, while a full-blown summer tour may happen as well.
