Sting will release a new album 57th & 9th, in an announcement to Rolling Stone. The famed bassist said that the album is “rockier than anything I’ve done in a while” as he prepares to offer up the follow-up to 2014’s The Last Ship.

Among the early previews include “50,000,” a song written in the wake of Prince’s untimely death. “It’s really a comment on how shocked we all are when one of our cultural icons dies: Prince, David [Bowie], Glenn Frey, Lemmy,” Sting said. “They are our gods, in a way. So when they die, we have to question our own immortality.”
