After a spot at New York City’s inaugural Panorama Festival, The National headed west for a show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles last night as they welcomed out a couple of special guests throughout the set.

Helping them on a pair of new songs were The War on Drugs guitarist Adam Granduciel and St. Vincent’s Annie Clark. First up was Granduciel, who helped the band close the set with “The Day I Die,” a new song debuted in June and played throughout the band’s touring slate.

Clark then emerged to start the encore with a brand new song dubbed “Prom Song 13th Century (Frankie & Johnny),” splitting vocals with frontman Matt Berninger. Watch that performance above.

Additionally, the band once again played their cover of “Morning Dew,” which they contributed to the massive Day of the Dead compilation honoring the music of the Grateful Dead. The National also recorded “Peggy-O” for that compilation.

The National return to the Greek tonight, this time at the venue’s Berkeley, CA outpost.
