Virginia’s Lockn’ Festival has announced the return of their Rockn’ to Lockn’ competition, which invites local Virginia bands to vie for a spot on this year’s lineup. 2017 marks the fourth year the festival has held the contest.

Interested band can view the submission guidelines here. Three rounds of competition will be held, with 20 bands chosen from the submissions being put forth for online fan voting in the first round. In the second, the 12 top vote-getters will perform in Virginia clubs for live fan voting that will narrow the field to six bands. A final battle of the bands will then be held with the last six acts during Community Day at Lockn’s Infinity Downs in Arrington, VA. Three of those bands will then be chosen to perform at Lockn’ 2017.

Lockn’ Festival returns to Arrington on August 24–27 with a lineup that features The String Cheese Incident, Widespread Panic, Umphrey’s McGee, Phil Lesh & Friends, Greensky Bluegrass, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, TAUK, Keller Williams, Margo Price, moe. and many more. Tickets are available now.
