After wrapping up their stint on Jam Cruise that included two sets and multiple sit ins, moe. moved up the Gulf Coast for a show at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, FL, that featured an encore tribute to late Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks.

The band returned to the stage after two sets for the encore, and bassist Rob Derhak took to the microphone to share a story about playing with Trucks in which the drummer gave him a hard time about not playing “Whipping Post” well enough. Derhak then led the band through the Allmans’ “Southbound,” marking the first appearance of the tune in a moe. setlist in over a decade, the last time coming on August 18, 2005.

Watch a video of the performance above, and see the full setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section. moe. continue their tour tonight at The Plaza Live in Orlando, FL.
