After playing a guest-filled tribute to late Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks late last month, Alan Paul, author of the ABB biography One Way Out, has set two more tributes with his band Big in China.

As with the last show, which ended up featuring a guest spot from guitarist Junior Mack of Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, among others, Paul will play Suzy Que’s BBQ and Bar in West Orange, NJ, tomorrow, February 10. The first song will again be streamed via Paul’s Facebook page. Paul and company will also play a larger gig at New York’s American Beauty on March 1 with members of the various bands of ABB founders like Jaimoe, Dickey Betts and Gregg Allman.

On the first tribute, Paul says, “The show was cathartic for me and many who were there told me the same thing. Allmans fans really needed that – but so did so many others who have been struggling for several very stressful months. Playing music is all about being in the moment and suspending your other concerns. We aim to create a community of musicians and listeners at every performance.”
